First up, a little about these drones. The Meteor65 is a 1S whoop drone, ultra-light at 22.83 grams, sporting a fresh micro canopy look, and supporting ExpressLRS 2.4G, Frsky, or TBS RX versions. The Meteor65 Pro, on the other hand, is designed with the ExpressLRS pilot in mind, and its main claim to fame is a larger 35mm propeller.
On the subject of flight controllers and receivers, both drones are decked out with an F4 1S 5A FC and support for Serial ELRS 2.4G, SPI Frsky/PNP, and TBS receivers. They both also use the C03 FPV camera, and their motors are identical – new 0802SE 19500KV in ice blue. Both also have a tilt of either 20° or 30°.
Meteor65 vs. Meteor65 Pro: Which is Better?
There are, however, a few key differences between them. The Meteor65 Pro features a larger 35mm prop size, compared to the 31mm props on the Meteor65. When it comes to flight time, the Meteor65 Pro has a slight edge, with about 4.5 minutes to the Meteor65’s 4 minutes. While there isn’t much of a weight difference, the Meteor65 Pro does tip the scales a bit more at 23.01 grams compared to the Meteor65’s 22.83 grams.
When it comes to price, both drones come in at $109.99, so your decision really comes down to what you’re looking for in a drone.
Summary
All in all, the Meteor65 Pro, with its larger propellers and longer flight times, offers a more flexible flying experience and better power performance. Yes, it’s a tad heavier, but not so much that it’d affect performance noticeably. So, if you’re a beginner looking for top-tier performance, the Meteor65 Pro is your guy. However, if you’re more about keeping it light and portable, the Meteor65 is also a fantastic choice.
